Eastfield is the only Dallas College campus that offers an associates degree for Auto Body. Located in the T Building, the Auto Body department offers 10 certificates ranging from The average cost is $2,402 for eight months or less, based on the career path students take. Getting an associate provides a greater opportunity of getting a better paying job.   The average starting salary for an auto mechanic is $41,500 per year, but the more experience a person has,  the better pay they receive.

The college offers morning and night classes, both of which  are all hands-on. Auto body focuses on restoring the exterior and structural integrity of the vehicle after an incident or any damage has been done. Instructors give lectures on safety and the correct use of tools. Many students say the class takes a lot of effort, but they get a great feeling seeing the final result after all their hard work.

The classes can be time consuming due to students learning how to mix liquids and sanding the correct way. As the semester progresses, students get adjusted  to the routine, making even the longest classes worthwhile. Classes are strict when it comes to attendance, but the instructors treat everyone with respect.

The strictness of the department is balanced evenly with many  fun activities. Each year, the T Building has a holiday meal for all morning and afternoon students. Attendance at the feast is mandatory and the students bring their choice of side items, while the professors bring the turkey.
