Erick Campuzano Fuentes, the current Editor-In-Chief of The EtCetera, will be entering the 2026-2027 school year as the president of Eastfield’s Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter, Psi Eta. Other leaders of this organization includes: Vice President of Leadership Ma’Kaylah Ward, Co-Vice Presidents of Scholarship Ashmita Bogati and Philipa Yarukoh Kanu, Vice President of Service Amy Faz, Vice President of Membership Samantha Garcia, Vice President of Public Relations, Sabiha Tasnim Chowdhury, Co-Vice President’s of Fellowship, Ola Aremu and David Maya Campos, Vice President of records, Rubi Acosta and Vice President of Interclub Relations, Ruth Rodriguez.
For the new leadership team of PTK, The EtCetera wishes Campuzano good luck in his journey in leading Psi Eta.

“Having the leadership [list] of Psi Eta come out and seeing I was president felt surreal,” Campuzano Fuentes said. “When I was giving a speech for elections I was nervous and stuttered a bit, but PTK is something I am passionate about. I’ve met amazing people in the two semesters I have been in this organization. The current president, Oscar Cisneros, did an amazing job in leading us. I plan to keep his legacy and go further with leading this team.”
Transitioning from Editor-In-Chief to chapter President will be a process that will go smoothly because Campuzano Fuentes said that the leadership experience he gained from The EtCetera will be similar to the leadership role in PTK.
“You have to be on top of everyone, meet deadlines and catch up with everyone,” he said. “I plan to still be in the paper but as a staff writer and maybe try other fields, like photography and graphic designing. But, in PTK just like I did in the paper, I will be managing projects, the team and helping organize trips.”
Campuzano Fuentes is excited to work with this group of people.
“I am very proud of the people who made the leadership team and got those specific roles next to their name,” he said. “Ola and David being Vice Presidents of Fellowship really fit them because they are so fun and I know we can make new memories with them.”
Campuzano Fuentes added: “I am excited to open this chapter in my life. When I entered college I didn’t expect to get as far as I am,” he said. “I wanted to go to UNT but couldn’t afford it, so I chose Dallas College, and I’m glad I did because I got the opportunity to be Editor-In-Chief for The EtCetera and now to be chapter president. I don’t think I would have gotten that opportunity if I went somewhere else, and I am grateful for all the opportunities I’ve been given.”
