If you are having problems with Workday, you are not alone. Many students are going through the same issues. The problems surrounding Workday have intensified since its launch earlier this year. With a slew of connectivity issues and unresponsive aid, students at Eastfield are left feeling dismissed. Many students feel outraged by the lack of collaboration and integrity from Dallas College’s IT staff. Many complaints surrounding the new system have a common theme: “They [the IT department] do not have empathy.”
The problems began to circulate when students and staff were surprised by the sudden announcement of the transfer to Workday, as there was no prior knowledge given regarding the new program.
The issue keeps destroying the reputation of the new website, with Workday making it difficult for students to attain the necessary financial support for their college journey.
Hayden Hernañdez, a first-year college student, expressed: “IT is not helping us. I can’t log in and they insist on my student account password, not employee account.” They went on to say: “Out of the many calls I made to IT, I only had one positive experience. A mother who was willing to help, and be patient throughout the process.” Even after Hernandez’s encounter with IT, the website still had problems working and was unreliable..
Ginger Pennington, who is also a first-year student, has been attempting to navigate Workday, encountering numerous technological issues. Pennington is increasingly frustrated with the service, saying, “I’m unable to clock in or clock out, and when it comes to technical issues, it [is] the worst.” In Jesus Ramirez’s experience, a second-year college student, the problems began when he reset his password, which kicked him out of Workday. “Now, when I try to reset my password, it auto locks me with the old password,” he said. There’s no option for manual log in. Even after a call, thinking the problems will be fixed,” Ramirez said: “Their solutions don’t work. They gave me a ticket to track the updates in my case, but it turns out it doesn’t exist.”
The similarities across all of the statements is evident: The IT department keeps students on hold for an extended period of time and, when they tell them that they will call back, they have no resolution for Workday issues.
If you are having problems with Workday, know you are not alone. The Et Cetera will keep the campus updated and share any solutions regarding the new Workday System if discovered.
