On one hand, Eastfield is a big campus, and lots of students begin their college journey here. On the other hand, Eastfield is a BIG campus, so those same students need to be able to find their way around and make it to class on time. At Information Central (IC), you can currently find a basic map of the school and other reliable resources. That is because IC has one goal — helping students and faculty. “Our main focus is to help faculty and students with things such as helping supply classrooms with copies, navigate around campus, find reliable resources and occasionally help with technology issues,” Jamie Perkins, one of IC’s team of dedicated workers, said.
However, she also admitted that IC isn’t the most knowledgeable department to ask for help with advanced technological issues.
With these available resources, IC aims to impact all of the students and staff very positively. Their efforts have paid off.

Perkins and the rest of the team were just awarded the “Best Campus Award of the Year.” IC won this award because of positive feedback from Eastfield members, stating on the survey that they provided super reliable resources to faculty and staff and always performed those duties with a warm smile.
IC also helps with school-held events like New Student Orientation, Super Saturday Registrations and various other events that help spread awareness for specific issues and causes.
Reflecting on what comes next, Perkins said, “There aren’t any specific goals, but we always strive to stay consistent with our resources and stay involved with school events to better student lives around campus.”
Congratulations to IC! The department plays a key factor in Eastfield’s student’s success and overall makes this campus easy to navigate.
